Vic & Emma's Adoption Log


Mar 10th 2010 - We went to the adoption meeting this evening. It was very informative and they gave us all the information we needed to make a decision on when we want to start the process. We have decided that we will wait until we have bought our new home and Emma is settled in a full time job locally and then we will request our first interview. We hope to be in a position to do this by Autumn 2010. Contrary to what we had been led to believe, the whole process only takes 9 - 12 months from beginning to end. That is another reason why we decided to put everything on hold till later on in the year as we need to consider Tatiana's age and the fact that she is still a bit too young. There needs to be a decent age gap between her and her new brother. Anyway, I guess that means goodbye for now on this log and hopefully there will be more updates at the end of the year. "VIC"

Jan 19th 2010 - I spoke at length to the adoption services a couple of weeks ago after which they sent us an information pack. We have booked in to attend our first meeting on March 10th for an informal discussion. If at the end of that we decide to go ahead, that is when the whole process will really begin. This is the beginning of a long winding road that will hopefully lead to the adoption of our next family member. "VIC"
